Finally: federal protection for students doing book reports or personal essays on their Christian faith.

“Every student has the right to an education free from harassment and violence. This bill will protect the individual freedoms of our students and enshrine the values of equality and opportunity in our classrooms.”

Well-said! I may not agree with what you say, but I defend to the death your right to say it!

One of our democratic values is being able to have a fair world for everyone, regardless of such differences as race, religion, or sexual orientation.

So, this comment, on recently proposed federal legislation, is great news to counter-act the varied, and steady, stream of stories where school kids get in trouble for writing, when given open topics, about their faith.

Can you handle school kids talking about such things? Or do you believe certain views should be built into the curriculum, and dictated to students? If we give these school kids the correct answers throughout school we will never have to worry about people having the wrong views.

Some believe that is the goal, and mission, of public education. Correct thinking. How about you? Does that fit your democratic party values?
