“Closing are clinics in Thief River Falls, Brainerd, Red Wing, Owatonna, Albert Lea and Fairmont. They did not perform abortions, but provided services ranging from contraception to cervical cancer screenings to testing for sexually-transmitted diseases.”
In Minnesota, job security with Planned Parenthood depends on whether you work for one of the clinics that performs abortions or not.
Minnesota. Sara Palin’s home state, with the slogan, “Show Me,” and with one of the biggest groups of electoral votes up for grabs, has apparently been hurt by the Defunding Trend.
Cuts to Title XX fed funding have led PP of the Ol’ Hickory State to close 6 of its 24 clinics. That is – wait, let me do the math – 6 / 24 = carry the nine, um, oh, yeah, ok – 25% of its clinics.
Is PP driven to perform abortions to “Show Me The Money?” (How many of us can forget that Minnesota movie with the memorable line, Show Me The Money!!). Yes. Their revenue has been reduced, so they have had to close down less profitable clinics: THOSE NOT PERFORMING ABORTIONS.
Wow. Doncha Know. Eh.
Add this to the many stories about PP affiliates being pressured to either begin providing abortions when they had not, or to begin providing the telelmed abortions, or to boost abortions performed, as former PP Clinic Director Abby Hoffman has declared.
The pro-abortion advocates have cried greatly about how abortion is only 1/3 of their “business.” Nope. We regular folks don;t buy that anymore. It is all about the Benjamins. when you cut loose the clinics who are not Moneymakers. it is the clinics that do not provide abortions.
